Textiles produce unique spatial accents

Wall and floor textiles, including carpets, curtains, floor tiles, upholstery textiles, veneers, wallpapers and more are instrumental in the design of interior spaces. Textiles add warmth, texture and color to a room, creating a unique accent and transforming it into a restful and inviting space. When designing wall and floor textiles, several factors should be considered, such as the style of the room, the color scheme, the durability of the fabric, and its texture. Recent trends in this sector include the use of smart materials and materials with innovative properties, which can be integrated into lighting and ventilation systems.

At the same time, there has also been a pivot towards natural materials and a minimalistic approach. In part this is a reaction to the proliferation of smart home systems, in part it reflects the current drive, reflected in the iF DESIGN AWARD jury selections, to build and live more sustainably.
