Pingtung Public Library

Library

By adding a new lobby and re-articulating the existing spatial order, the project connects Pingtung Public Library with the city, successfully becoming a new public space for citizens to spend time together. The transparent lobby was attached to the city side of the existing building. The materials and colors used in constructing the parallelogram make it a modern interpretation of the slate building, a typical aboriginal dwelling in Pingtung.
