Weekend Yard, my ancestral house in the countryside, is an old house renovation project designed by me & husband. The old house began to collapse due to its longstanding dereliction. My father planned to demolish it and rebuild a new one, but I liked its traditional and classic South Fujian architectural style,, so we decided to retain the original appearance by renovating to revive the old house. China is currently endeavoring to develop rural areas so that the countryside has become a social focus. The old house is only an hour's drive from Xiamen City in which we live. We decide to turn it into a resort for the whole family at the weekend.
