X2 Pattaya Oceanphere

The X2 Oceanphere is situated in Pattaya, where there are no hills. The design used available materials and efficient construction methods to elevate a landlocked site into a pool villa resort. The villas are arranged following the existing slope to allow guests to enjoy privacy and ocean views from the second floor. Each villa is separated into two parts; the living area was designed as an open space with glass sliding doors, and the service area has solid cliff-like walls to keep the temperature down. They are made of concrete blocks with a customized edge profile forming the façade, doubling as a rain gutter. The overall design proves that simple tectonic and natural mechanisms can be appreciated when appropriately highlighted.
