Design of Seedling Tray Based on Mycelium Biomaterial
Seedling Tray/Mycelium Biomaterial
This concept converts agricultural waste into carbon-negative mycelium materials and uses the natural growth of mycelium to generate seedling trays that can naturally decompose into the nutrients needed by the saplings. The mycelium material also has multiple beneficial characteristics such as thermal insulation and waterproofing. The tray, therefore, serves not only to protect the saplings but also to speed up their growth and reduce the cultivation time. This innovative material has great potential in commercial horticulture.
A design with high economic value that can be used to fertilize soil and maximize the distance between cultivated plants. This application could potentially be extended to commercial agriculture.
