Collab-Ear

AR application for hearing-impaired children

Collab-ear is a smartphone app designed for children aged 3–6 with impaired hearing who are undergoing rehabilitation training. Based on audio-verbal therapy (AVT), the situational AR experience helps hearing-impaired children develop oral language in the family environment and strengthens parent-child interaction. It uses real and virtual multisensory situations to assist family rehabilitation training, aiming to improve children’s hearing ability and reduce the burden on parents.

JURY STATEMENT

What a fantastic idea! Using a device to connect sounds and images can help children with impairments understand and connect with reality in a more meaningful way.
