Wetland Restoration Toolkit
Wetland Conservation
Flooding is rising across the UK as over 90% of wetlands, the country's natural flood defenses, have been lost. Farmers hold the key to restoration but face complex systems and low trust in government schemes. This project combines a simple, physical wetland toolkit with a supportive digital app to help farmers identify opportunities, access funding, and collaborate with conservationists, unlocking practical, scalable wetland restoration for communities and nature.
The project exemplifies a systematic design approach; rather than relying solely on technical interventions, it addresses the organizational challenges of wetland restoration. By utilizing a structured toolkit, it connects landowners with experts and funding programs, facilitating effective action.
WINNER STATEMENTWe are incredibly happy to have won and proud that our project addresses a real social and environmental issue. We wanted to design something that genuinely helps people. This award has given us confidence in our early careers as designers.
