PickerBot - Chemical Free Pest Control & Garden Care

Garden Care Robot

Kitchen gardens are essential micro-ecosystems, but they are threatened by invasive species, climate change, and pesticides. PickerBot is an autonomous garden robot that provides early, non-toxic pest intervention. It operates continuously to collect slugs, detect pest activity, and deter larger animals, promoting preventive care over reactive chemical treatments. This helps gardeners cultivate resilient gardens and healthier crops.

JURY STATEMENT

The kitchen garden is increasingly recognized as a micro-solution to food insecurity. This autonomous garden robot enables early, on-pest intervention. Operating day and night on garden paths, it selectively collects slugs and detects emerging threats, supporting the cultivation of more resilient gardens and healthier ecosystems.

WINNER STATEMENT

This recognition, bestowed by the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, affirms my commitment to addressing real-world challenges. It makes me proud and encourages me to continue creating solutions that have a meaningful impact throughout my career as a designer.
