Hoshino Shrine
The covered hall of the shrine was reconstructed to protect the main hall from the elements. The main hall is designated as Cultural Asset by the city, and was renovated and restored at the time of the reconstruction of covered hall. While preserving the main hall, the ventilation and earthquake resistance were taking into consideration. The reconstruction plan was based on a sustainable structure with penetration tie technique, traditional construction method, Ishibadate, and Calculation of Response and Limit Strength, are adopted. This was an innovative approach that combined old and new technologies.
