The 2023 Strix SCAR and Strix G aim to break convention with brand-new chassis designs and revised cooling to provide gamers with the best gaming experiences possible in a high-end gaming laptop. With scissor-door hinges, the ROG design team was able to completely remove the I/O from the rear of the chassis, allowing more surface area than ever before for cooling fins and fans. The left, rear, and right exhaust vents are all connected to the same heatsink, something not possible with a traditional hinge design. The translucent chassis also serves to diffuse the RGB LED illumination of the Strix SCAR to cast an immersive lighting effect.
