Awalk - Gait Improvement for Parkinson's Sufferer

Product for Parkinson

The freezing of gait is one of the more overlooked symptoms of Parkinson's disease, which affects an estimated 10 million people worldwide. Awalk is an assistive device that helps Parkinson's patients to walk normally. It first gathers real-time gait data through sensors and analyzes these using algorithms. It then emits rhythmic vibrations to the thighs to improve gait, allowing patients to achieve personalized optimal treatment effects. Gait data can be displayed in the app, helping users build confidence and enabling doctors and family members to provide better assistance. The design was shown to have positive effects in prototype testing.
