Raíces Set Pedagógico

Educational Project

Raíces is an educational set promoting ancestral weaving knowledge in Guanga, supporting women weavers from Jenoy's indigenous council to showcase their work, and breaking the cycle of poverty. Easily producible and transportable, Raices imparts the craft's importance, creating satisfaction through hands-on learning. Meriting recognition for its sustainable impact, Raíces transforms lives and families, making the craft economically viable. Notably, it's the sole interactive 'Guanga Weaving' product, encouraging users to apply learned skills in crafting textiles. Beyond the product, Raices aims to spotlight the often-overlooked artisanal work.

JURY STATEMENT

Design is a powerful tool for social transformation when used for the economic development of a group or community. This project brings together cultural aspects, design and economic development aspects. Congratulations!

WINNER STATEMENT

As a team, we were incredibly proud to receive the news. It was hard to believe that our project supporting a remote indigenous community would receive such significant recognition. We felt a mix of happiness and nostalgia, knowing our efforts represented our country and region.
