Prioritizing Women's Privacy in Open Defecation

In 2019, nearly 670 million people worldwide were practicing open defecation, which not only leads to environmental pollution and health risks, but also affects women's dignity and safety and subjects them to an increased risk of crime. We have upcycled discarded tents and transformed them into portable toilet shelters that are easy to assemble and store, providing women with a sense of security and even a source of income.

JURY STATEMENT

This design addresses the needs of girls living in areas lacking public toilets. It took a step further with a physical prototype that reuses discarded materials. With a thoughtful design, it not only protects the safety and dignity of girls, but is also simply a beautiful object.
