S-PLY: New Method to supply Cities
Sustainable City Concept
Cities have a large economy confined to a small space. Supplying them is already a problem, and is expected to get worse. Trucks navigate the entire city individually, often half-empty, stopping at every red light. This poses problems of ecology, air pollution, economic inefficiency, and city ergonomics. Our design takes most of the commercial transportation and moves it underground, using the already existing underground metro infrastructure. The metro transports our supply box from the edge of the city into the delivery area with passengers, where at the station, our compact vehicle picks it up and makes the final route.
The connection between ground and underground is impressive, utilizing the existing subway system for logistical transportation.
WINNER STATEMENTWe are honored to hear that our S-PLY project has been awarded with the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD. We aimed to show how existing infrastructure and technology can be transformed into a more sustainable, efficient, and ergonomic solution. This recognition helps us achieve that.
