ODOR WEAR

Scented Biofabrics for Anxiety-reducing

In our modern, fast-paced society, where anxiety and psychological disorders are on the rise, this concept explores the use of botanical scents as a novel method of stress relief. This innovative system design aims to enhance the soothing properties of rosemary by leveraging chromatography mass spectrometry to manipulate its ultraviolet spectra. This involves extracting the herb’s essence and embedding it into bio-fabrics via microencapsulation technology. This pioneering approach not only facilitates the creation of scented textiles but also opens the way for customizable personal scents.

JURY STATEMENT

ODOR WEAR proposes the development of materials with a high potential for future application in the textile sector. However, the hypothesis about the therapeutic value of odors could be more widely tested in the proposal. Great visualization and communication of the concept.

WINNER STATEMENT

As an interdisciplinary designer, winning the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD means the world to me. It recognizes my creativity in exploring innovative materials, and inspires me to make a positive impact by pushing the boundaries of design.
