Omena: Breaking the cycle of emotional abuse
Education program
Omena, the pioneering organization in Madagascar empowers youth with social-emotional tools to combat emotional abuse, reaching over 5,000 students in underserved areas. Partnering with UNICEF and USAID, and recognized by Echoing Green, Forbes Under 30, the Clinton Foundation and many more, Omena integrates mental health prevention, psycho-social support, and community empowerment, focusing on breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma, fostering a resilient, more empathetic, and healthier generation.
Great initiative! Revolution comes from within a community and requires strong resilient individuals able to stand up and challenge status quo. Mental health and inner wellbeing is key. Omena portrays all, and is a true bridge builder between developed- and an emerging market.
WINNER STATEMENTWinning this prize reinforces our belief in the importance of our work and inspires us to keep pushing forward with even greater determination. This generous funding will allow us to hire a part-time Master Facilitator to help train more youth and children, significantly growing our impact at Omena.
