LET ME IN: Children with Deafblindness

Awareness & competence building edcuation program

Children with deafblindess are still very much “left behind”. Recent UNICEF based data show across 36 countries on all continents that just 14% are enrolled in education. Our Global Education Campaign “LET ME IN” is the answer to this. Launched in 2023 and run in close collaboration with the World Federation of the Deafblind WFDB , the campaign focuses on 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. After an initial time of networking at all levels, a researchers' initiative will be launched this year. Nationally, the participating countries have just applied with a 2-year-project that is relevant to them in core areas of education.

JURY STATEMENT

LET ME IN - Basic request. The project is positivly targeting and assiting those who are not by choice less invoved in the society. Educating and including the deafblind children in society, gives a purpose to grow and thrive even in such a difficult reality.

WINNER STATEMENT

We are really deeply grateful for this prize that helps us going ahead with the Global Education Campaign. We are just getting ready to launch the corresponding research initiative in Africa, Asia and Latin America and hope to collect soon enough funds for the projects in the 23 focus countries, relevant for 5.8 million children with deafblindness.
