Yusen-no-Yado Yumu is a hotel located in Hyogo, and was initiated as a project to renovate a banquet hall, which was in low demand due to COVID-19, into guest rooms to increase its value. Guest room Kawami: Originally a banquet hall, the ceiling is high and overlooks the Harui-gawa River below. Given these conditions, in order to achieve an overwhelming sense of openness, we decided to gradually raise the floor level toward the outside to direct the eye upward and induce a view of the sky. As one moves toward the back, the sash becomes lower as the floor rises, giving a new sensation of a riverbed overlooking the Harui-gawa River.
