Shanghai Metro Line 18 has 26 stations. Represented by Danyang Road Station, it shows the efficient and simple construction of metro stations of the city. The project is located at Yangpu Binjiang (also known as "Riverside Area"), which is one of the birthplaces of modern Chinese industrial civilization and has witnessed the industrial development of Shanghai for more than a century. The design team created a visual contrast in the space, to incorporate the development course of Yangpu Binjiang into station design, hence turning the metro station into a window that displays local culture and history beyond transportation functions.
