The global headquarters of the 100-year-old company, a member of the Toyota Group, is currently located in its affiliate's company town. The factory-centered, company town was closed to the outside, and therefore, the designers opened the area. The "Forest of Kariya" was developed amid the factories, preserving many existing trees, encouraging relations with the town, and inviting people to enter the area while maintaining security. Since the company aims to achieve carbon neutrality globally, the HQ building was constructed accordingly. The space and design feature interior and exterior fabric screens for environmental control, representing the identity of a company that will continue to pursue innovation.
