Expressive MIDI Controller

This project seeks to design and develop a modular system that could modify sound interactively when connected to a synthesizer. This enable creative and expressive control over the sound. Three modules were designed and prototyped. More module could be developed within the system. All modules use 3.5mm connector to connect to the controller box. The controller box then send SysEx or MIDI CC message to the synthesizer to change the parameters. The box has MIDI in, which allows additional gear such as keyboard to be attached. The prototypes were demoed during a live performance.
