Suzuki Katanas

This is a page from the Italian Auto & Design magazine showing sketches and models of the Suzuki Katana motorcycles code named ED-1 and ED2. Target Design's first project ca 1979. A design consultancy based in Herrsching, Germany and started by two ex BMW designers and myself. The radical designs, especially the ED-2, took the motorbike world by a storm and went on to influence motorcycle design for the next decade or more. Attention to detail, aerodynamics, ergonomics and efficiency had much to do with its success and even today it still has a worldwide cult following.
