The Soviet Union through the camera - July 16th - December 13th, 2015

Curatorship: Luiz Gustavo Carvalho and Maria Vragova Room: 7 The exhibition "The Soviet Union through the camera" consists of works of several photographers of the former Soviet Union. The historical period chosen to be portrayed by the exhibition begins with the year 1953,of Josef Stalin's death, and ends in 1991 with the end of the Soviet Union. To portray this environment, the curator of the exhibition selected works of some of the most important photographers of the former USSR: Leonid Lazarev, Vladimir Lagrange, Yuri Krivonossov, Victor Akhlomov, Antanas Sutkus and Vladimir Bogdanov. There are about 150 images, all in black and white.
