Creating a community Shibuya is a constantly growing district where a wide variety of people and cultures intermingle and connect. The new headquarters of mixi.inc was planned with reference to the context of the Shibuya district where the company was founded. The space reflects the culture of the company, which places communication at the core of its business. The design cherishes this culture and promotes a ‘sense of unity’, an ‘open atmosphere’, and diversity. It show that in addition to being a workplace, mixi.inc is also a new community linked to the city that reflects its identity.
