Alpha Sennon

Alpha Sennon is FarmerPreneur, Founder and Executive Director of WHYFARM

with the mission to grow the Future Nourishers of 2050. He is responsible for pioneering the introduction of the first and only Food and Nutrition Security Superheroes “AGRIman” and “Photosynthesista” and has successfully launched the AGRIMAN AGventures comic book series both regionally in Trinidad and Tobago.

 

Alpha and WHYFARM, his internationally award-winning NGO have received support from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Kirchner Impact Foundation, Thought For Food Foundation and Digicel. They aim to alleviate the problem of young people’s lack of engagement in agriculture.

 

WHYFARM's mission is to inspire and motivate youth and children around the world in agriculture and encourage them to contribute to food and nutrition security through innovation, creativity and agripreneurship. Alpha and WHYFARM have been featured in publications such as Forbes Magazine and Spore magazine. He was recently named the first Ashoka Fellow in T&T for his work as a social entrepreneur. In 2022 he was named to the class of 50 NEXT, one of the top 50 pioneering activists. In December 2022, he was named as one of the world’s top social entrepreneurs and thought leaders by Ashoka.
