Birgit Bauer

Birgit Bauer is a Professor of Design Concept at HTW University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (since 2012). She teaches methodology, discourse, writing, and leads transdisciplinary, participatory, and research-based design projects with Communication Design students. Birgit Bauer studied Product Design at the Kunsthochschule Kassel and was awarded the Braun-Feldweg Prize for Design-Critical Writing in 2004. She founded the Designcritics.org platform with others in 2009 and has published in various publications. In 2018, the anthology 'Designlernen - Debatte, Praxis und Innovation' was published in the context of the research-initiative 'Edulab'. She is also involved in the new master's program 'Public Design' at HTW Berlin, which will start in 2025.
