Prof. Burkhardt Schmitz

Professor Burkhard Schmitz was born in 1957 and studied industrial design in ‚Berlin. In 1983, he began work in Produktentwicklung Roericht in Ulm. He has held various teaching positions, including the chair of visual communication at the Schwäbisch Gmünd Technical College. In 1991 he co-founded the design group 7.5 in Berlin. Since 1992 he has been a professor of design at the Berlin School of the Arts. He also established ID 5 “New Media, which is currently focusing on spatial ordering systems.
