Job earned his degree in architecture and a master’s degree in urban planning from Oxford Brookes University and subsequently gained experience at various architectural firms in Paris, London, and Zurich. Charles served for many years as a research associate at ETH Zurich and, from 2008 to 2026, as a professor of architectural theory at Bern University of Applied Sciences. He works in the fields of architecture, interior design, product design, furniture design, and lighting design. In his work in research, temporary architecture, and product, furniture, and lighting design for international clients, a constant pursuit of understated innovation runs like a common thread through his diverse project portfolio. Charles has participated in and won numerous international competitions. His furniture is part of the permanent collections of the Vitra Design Museum, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Denver Art Museum.
