Erdem Akan

erdem akan Türkiye

The designer, art director and curator Erdem Akan co-founded Istanbul-based BOxER in 2012 and is Design Director at VitrA since 2014. With a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design and design management he has a vast academic background - yet he is a firm believer of the self trained design spirit, and describes himself as a visionary who blends diverse cultures and disciplines. In 2012, he has been awarded by Elle Décor as Designer of the year Turkey. Erdem’s designs have been featured in Wallpaper, New York Times Style Magazine, Interni, Elle Décor and I.D., among many others.
