Prof. em. Fritz Frenkler

Fritz Frenkler is the founder of f/p design, with studios in Berlin and Munich (Germany) and in Kyoto (Japan). Since 2022, he has been a member of the new board of trustees of the Rams Foundation. Since 2013, he has also been a member of the Akademie der Künste (AdK), Berlin, and from 2021 to 2024, he served as a senator and director of its Architecture Section. From 2006 to 2020, he was a full professor and head of the Chair of Industrial Design at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Afterward, he was appointed Prof. Emeritus of Excellence (EoE) in the Senior Excellence Faculty. Fritz Frenkler was the president of frogdesign Asia in Tokyo (Japan), managing director of the Wiege Wilkhahn Entwicklungsgesellschaft, and head of design at Deutsche Bahn AG. He has been the chairman of the iF DESIGN AWARD jury for many years. Starting in 1995, he became a member of the board of iF Industrie Forum Design e.V. and has been a member of the board of the iF Design Foundation since April 2018.
