Gioia Meller-Markovicz

Gioia Meller Marcovicz was born in Hannover and began her career in 1975 designing fashion for professional women. She worked for several companies, including Burberrys and Jaeger, and for many years was responsible for the clothes and stage outfits worn by the singer Sade. She studied furniture design at the College of Art in London from 1991 to 1993, before devoting herself principally to furniture and lighting design. Meller Marcovicz has won several design awards and has taught at Buckinghampshire University and the Royal College of Art in London since 1997.
