Prof. Iris Utikal

Iris Utikal studied communications design at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf. After graduating she worked as a member of the Loesch project group. In 1994 she set up QWER with Michael Gais in Cologne. QWER's areas of activity comprise the development and implementation of communications concepts for companies, cities, regions, cultural institutions and events. One of QWER's project was to create and manage the design of the EXPO 2000 world fair in Hanover. Iris Utikal has been Professor of Typography and Layout, Conception and Design at the Cologne International School of Design since 2002.
