James Irvine

James Irvine S.r.l.Milano, Italy

James Irvine (*1958 in London, † 18. February 2013 in Milano) studied at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1987, he worked at the Toshiba Design Centre Tokyo. In 1988 he opened his private design studio in Milan. From 1993 to 1998 he was a partner of Sottsass Associati Milan responsible for industrial design. In 2004 he was elected Royal Designer for Industry by the Royal Society of Arts London. His studio in Milan has worked with numerous internationally renowned companies including Alias, Artemide, Canon, Olivetti, Foscarini, LG, Magis, Phaidon, Thonet and Zumtobel.
