John Lam

John is an entrepreneur, university lecturer, and researcher at the Technical University of Munich - Chair of Integrated Product Design (IPD), exploring how workplace and branded environments can make culture tangible, shape everyday behavior, and strengthen belonging and performance in organizations. Over nearly 20 years, he has worked for and with teams across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America. His projects sit at the intersection of workplace strategy, design management, brand experience, and cultural context, guided by both business and human-centred values. John holds degrees in Business Administration and Intercultural Communication, and a Master’s in Design Strategy (with Distinction). He studied at Parsons School of Design and serves as an international jury member for the iF Design Award and the iF Design Student Award. Across research and practice, he aims to connect culture, design, and strategy, and make space a credible expression of identity and legitimacy.
