John Small

Steelcase Werndl AGStrasbourg, France

John Small spent the early part of his career working as a freelance designer. He joined Foster + Partners in 1985. He specialises in furniture product and interior design and in particular was responsible for these aspects for the airport at Stansted. He has designed a number of Foster + Partners’ regular major retrospective exhibitions. These are an extremely significant part of the practice’s work and an invaluable tool for communicating the architectural process. In December 2010 Small became director of design at Steelcase Europe.
