Satyakam Sharma is Professor of Industrial Design and Design for Sustainability at Savannah College of Art and Design (USA). He studied Mechanical and Production Engineering, received his master's degree in Industrial Design from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi and his PhD from PolyU School of Design in Hong Kong. Satyakam has more than 15 years of experience in the development of consumer goods, medical devices, kitchen appliances, as well as the implementation of research projects. For example, he has executed and led these in various roles focusing on design and innovation for brands such as Philips and Electrolux. Satyakam's research focuses on the social, behavioral and psychological dimensions of sustainable well-being, designing for the benefit of behavior change, user-centered design approaches and gamification.
