Prof. Stefan Lengyel

Bon 1937 in Budapest. After graduating from school, studied at the College of Design in Budapest, passing the state examination in philosophy and art history and theory. Awarded industrial design diploma in 1961.
1962-64: Assistant Lecturer at the College of Design in Budapest.1964-65: Assistand Lecturer at the College of Design in Ulm.
1966: appointed to a lectureship in the Department of Industrial Design at the Folkwang School of Design in Essen (subsequently incorporated into the University of Essen in 1972).
1969: appointed Head of Department. Has held the Chair of Industrial Design at Essen since 1981. Has worked since 1961 as a freelance designer in a number of areas of industry.
