ausdruckstanz und bauhaus bühne

The exhibition presents numerous picture and text documents as well as film material and costume reconstructions. The main lender is the Bauhaus Dessau. The local reference to Hanover is given by the selected female dancers: Mary Wigman, probably the most prominent representative of expressive dance in Germany; Yvonne Georgi, who acted as ballet master at the Städtischen Bühnen since 1926, and Harald Kreutzberg, who became a solo dancer from 1927 onwards. Their successes celebrated beyond Germany's borders.
