UMBO - this name is synonymous with a kind of 'big bang' of modern photography in the mid-1920s: Born in 1902 in Dusseldorf as Otto Maximilian Umbehr, UMBO is regarded as the inventor of the image of the New Woman, the new image of the street, the photographic reportage par excellence. The 200 works of the exhibition are mainly from the estate of the photographer influenced by important Bauhaus´ teachers like Johannes Itten. Talk about photography: UMBO - an exemplary Bauhaus biography? A colloquium with the authors of the publication and other guests will take place at 9th of February, 7 p.m.
