Wanted: The best young designers in the world!
Applications for the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025 are now open until February 05, 2025.
The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, one of the world's most recognized design competitions for young talent, officially launches the registration phase for the year 2025.
Students and young graduates of design-related courses and programs are invited to submit their innovative concepts by February 5, 2025.
Creative solutions that meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be uploaded at ifdesign.com. International design experts who form the jury will award the prestigious label, the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025, as well as EUR 50,000 in prize money to the best concepts.
“The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD has established itself as one of the most important platforms for promoting young design talent. We offer them an international stage and help students to successfully launch their careers,” says Uwe Cremering, CEO of iF Design.
Every year, all award winners are invited to the Awards Ceremony in a different metropolis. The iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2024 was presented at the Triennale in Milan.
Next year, the award ceremony will take place on June 19. Location: coming soon.
The competition categories are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (1 - 15):
No Poverty / Zero Hunger / Good Health and Well-being / Quality Education / Gender Equality / Clean Water and Sanitation / Affordable and Clean Energy / Decent Work and Economic Growth / Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure / Reduced Inequalities / Sustainable Cities and Communities / Responsible Consumption and Production / Climate Action / Life Below Water / Life on Land
The jury process
The jury process takes place in two stages: In March 2025, all concepts will be evaluated by an international jury of experts in an Online Jury. The 300 best works will then qualify for the Final Jury, which will select the winners on 25 April 2025 in Berlin and award the prize money to the most outstanding works.
The Evaluation Criteria
In order to receive an iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2025, the concepts must achieve above-average marks in response to the following questions:
• Does it solve a problem?
• Does it reflect or promote high moral-ethical standards?
• Does it strengthen group relations?
• Does it create a positive experience?
• Does it make economic sense?
