Conventional rulers normally have to be adjusted to the 0 point to then draw a line in order to be accurate. To eliminate this step, the 0 point ruler automatically goes back to the 0 point wherever the pencil touches it. The entire top side consists of a pressure-sensitive touch screen, which returns to the 0 point whenever it senses pressure. Using the 0 point as the starting point, it marks the numbers that go before and after.
