Prefabricated library design

UNIST

There are many villages in Africa with underdeveloped education systems. We designed a prefabricated library that can be produced for $100. The '$100 Library' is delivered in a 1mx1mx1.5m box, and weighs less than 70kg. All parts to assemble a hexagon-shaped library of about 6mx5mx2m are there. Assembling is simple, and can be done by two non-readers within an hour. The design is expandable: you can connect as many libraries as you want. Together we can quickly build thousands of $100 libraries across Africa, which may offer a fast and lasting contribution to bringing literacy to those in need.
