The 1987. Lan Pro Spa is located in Eastern New Town in Ningbo City, China, a newly developed CBD. The L-shaped "glass box" street level was designed by JWD to provide a hidden urban retreat that slows down the fast pace of life. High grilles in the lobby produce a wonderful light and shadow effect. Taking aesthetics into consideration, no fixed accessories are exposed, creating the play of scattered light and shadows and a vacation-like experience. The spatial atmosphere offers people a relaxing experience—a retreat from the outside world where they can unwind.
