2020 Tainan New Year's Eve “Ban Xi”

Short film

WildDesign studio

In this video, we use the stages of “Ban Xi” (Traditional Taiwanese Play) that are commonly seen on the streets in Taiwan and auspicious animals to create a scene of a surreal New Year's Eve party. Before designing the poster, we visited the temples to study the stage structure of Ban Xi, pillar outlines, and the variety of auspicious animals such as dragons and Kirin. These cultural elements were then adapted to the design, building an atmosphere of auspicious animals gathering in front of the stage to watch Ban Xi together.
