3.1 Freedom Trail

Spatial Branding

3.1 Freedom Trail is a 31 km path located in Hwaseong City where public resistance against the Japanese occupation was at its most fierce in 1919. Its visual identity was designed to commemorate the historic March 1st Movement and translates the spirit and meaning of independence and freedom for people of today. Its visual identity design employs the graphic elements of the Korean flag and the hurray emoji, which symbolizes the 3.1 Movement and eager for independence. This adaptive logo design is applied to signage systems, storyboard, and installations, allowing visitors to have comprehensive experience through the historical routes.
