Single-storey dwelling

This 50-year-old Taipei apartment is thoughtfully renovated to preserve memory and redefine daily living. The L-shaped ground-floor unit integrates public and private zones through restructured garden paths and planar walls. Structural constraints, like low ceilings and beams, are transformed into features using reclaimed Taiwanese cypress. A curved wall and symmetrical kitchen enhance spatial flow and visual depth. The design balances privacy and openness, marking a new chapter for a home rich in history.
