Agri-fruit-bag
A biodegradable wrap for planting fruits
The Agri-Fruit-Bag is a sustainable bag designed for growing fruits like guava. Made from biofilm derived from tomato leaves, it serves as an eco-friendly alternative to unrecyclable plastic guava bags. Its unique shape protects the fruit from pests, sunburn, and damage during transport. Biodegradable and compostable, the Agri-Fruit-Bag decomposes in soil after harvest, returning nutrients to the land. By transforming agricultural waste into protective wrapping, it supports both health and sustainability.
We chose this design for its concrete material innovation and economic sustainability. It ingeniously uses already available agricultural waste resources in a replicable and low-cost process. A great example of environmental responsibility and economic feasibility merged into a scalable solution.
WINNER STATEMENTI’m deeply grateful to receive the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, which recognizes my exploration of new biomaterials in sustainable design. It encourages me to continue developing material applications that reconnect people with our planet.
