Panoramic calendar

The shots for this large-format calendar (120 x 48 cm) were taken by photographer and mountain climber Rudolf Rother, who spent over two decades producing images of the Alps – from the 1960s to the 1980s. In order to ensure an appropriately refined resolution, he created the panoramas by taking up to twelve individual shots on black-&-white film, using a tripod and shifting the angle slightly for each shot. Only today, after elaborate electronic processing, has it been possible to assemble them to form panorama shots of an astonishing quality.
