Wayfinding system

German candle manufacturer Gies relocated its longtime production site to other European countries but kept its headquarters in Hamburg. The company wants to preserve and acknowledge the long history of the manufactory, so a wayfinding signage system was designed to lead visitors through the repurposed grounds. The system is groundbreaking in its use of light. Backlit elements, the signage materials, and spotlighted areas associate with modern candlelight with transparent, silver accents. The system creates selective highlights that intuitively guide visitors around the property.
