AM I? - A Robotic Out-Of-Body Experience

Interactive Cobotic Installation

Elastique. GmbH

Does our sense of sight shape our self-perception? At the Passagen event in Cologne, we explored this with the robotics project "Am I?". Visitors used a META Quest 3 headset to control cobots in real-time—mirroring their movements and seeing through the cobots’ stereoscopic cameras. Standing opposite their robotic reflection and surrounded by mirrors, users experienced a powerful shift in perspective. By detaching perception from the physical body, "Am I?" opened a dialogue on identity and what truly defines us as humans.
